Today's Small Business Blog of the Day comes from New Orleans attorney, Ernie Svenson. Ernie is a pretty famous attorney appearing in the book Naked Conversations and enjoying blog celebrity including being 2nd in Technorati's blog search for 'lawyer.'

This is a very autobiographical blog about Ernie's life in New Orleans as an attorney. As a result, many of the posts center around New Orleans life, especially as it relates to Hurricane Katrina.

Incidentally, did I mention that (now jailed Clerk of Court) Kimberly Williamson Butler is running for mayor?  I don't know who is moderating the debate tonight, but if Simon Cowell is available I'd say we spare no expense in bringing him here.  After all, if we're going to turn this mayoral election into a political circus let's do it right.

Ernie's blog does little to actively seek out clients and generate income. There are no mentions of calling him if you are a victim of personal injury, or if you need to update your estate. Instead, he gives us a glimpse of what's important to him, some advice, and some entertaining stories. Even his biography fails to include whether or not he's actually available to hire (you have to really dig to find that he recently started his own firm). This type of blog builds an audience and creates a reputation for Svenson without the need for a hard sell.
