Tony Kawaguchi: Small Business Blog Interview

Tony Kawaguchi wasted no time sending back my interview questions. Thanks Tony and here's some more detail about his blog, Honolulu Guide that was featured on April 4, 2006.

Pajama Market: How has the blog impacted your company?

Tony Kawaguchi: I've been able to reach a lot of clients that i may never had reached.  a lot of people have been reading and contacting me.  it's also forced me to be very up to date on everything, which involves doing research and reading a lot of interesting things.  in trying to stay informed, i've actually become more of an expert.

PJ: What has the response been from your customers/clients?

TK: everyone loves my blog and people have told me that they read it to stay up on things.  they love the fact they i give them info specific to real estate in oahu.  there isn't anywhere else on the web where consistent info is published on the topic of hawaii real estate.

PJ: What types of things about your work day inspire you to write a post on your blog?

TK: anytime i find an interesting property, a market effect like interest rates or the job market, or just an experience in real estate that i think people could benefit from hearing about.

PJ: What have been the biggest surprises with your blog so far?

TK: i can't believe how many hits i get.  people really like my stuff.  it's amazing.

PJ: What blogging program do you use for the blog? Did you create this blog yourself? How do you like the program?

TK: i use blogspot, which is super basic.  i publish it to my ftp site so it looks a bit more like part of my site.  i made it myself and i kind of like blogspot but i might look for something more powerful later.
