Chef Walter's Oklahoma Food Blog: Small Business Blog of the Day

by Brian Brown (follow me on Twitter): May 5, 2006

Oklahoma. Brand new blog. About food. Good food. Written by a chef.

WalterWhat it is
The title says it all. Chef Walter's Oklahoma Food Blog is a blog about food...written by...Chef Walter. Chef Walter gives classes, writes, and entertains on the radio and television. I haven't heard of him before because I live way up in Vermont and he lives way down in OK, but I'll bet all kinds of people in the southwest know just who he is.

Features
It's brand new (2 weeks + 2 days), so we can only speculate on the direction this blog will go in. Right now, the features are updates on events that Chef Walter is participating in.

Favorite Post
The blog's 2nd post is my favorite for two reasons...the title and the quote I'm highlighting. The title is, "It's Hot, It's Brown and there is Plenty of it!...", and the quote is:

"Wow! I can't begin to tell how much food they brought us... I mean A LOT!
A LOT
A LOT
A LOT
I mean, if dinner courses were hippies... this meal would be Woodstock."

Further Comments
I really like the beginnings of this blog. It appears there was a lot of thought going into this project before Chef Walter began. The posts are pretty focused, and nearly all of them mention either one of his classes, or a show he was on. It's very good self-promotion while not being pretentious.

The blog needs pictures.

Today's blog was found on Technorati's blog search for "cooking classes."
