China Law Blog: Small Business Blog of the Day

Today's blog comes from another reader suggestion that I received three days ago. It is the second attorney blog I've featured, the first being Ernie the Attorney back in April (seems soooo long ago). Thanks to everyone for keeping their suggestions coming!

What it is
The China Law Blog follows business in China. It might be better named as "The China Business Blog", but many of the posts relate to laws in China, or laws in the U.S. (and other countries) as they relate to dealings with China. Plus, the blog is written by two attorneys, not two CEOs, and represents the law firm Harris & Moure, pllc in Seattle, Washington. One of the attorneys is Dan Harris who writes in the U.S., the other is Steve Dickinson who writes from China.

Features
The main feature is the amount of information on this blog. All kinds of business news from China is covered with both writers often contributing at least one post a day. Most of the posts reference stories in other online publications, but the authors are very good at throwing in their own thoughts regarding the stories.

Favorite Post
This post by Dan Harris references an article claiming that there are more than 410 million cell phone users currently in China. Wow.

"I love this sort of hard number because to me it is a very accurate way to measure China's growth and increasing wealth, perhaps even more so than a more standard measure like per capita income, which can be easily manipulated and whose impact is heavily dependent on living costs."

Further Comments
Hmm, no pictures at all on this site making it very dense when combined with the volume of information. However, I don't mind that too much as this site appeals to a very professional crowd much like the Wall Street Journal. What I like is that the authors don't try to write commentary as a free-standing article. Instead, they reference and use quotes from a variety of sources that they scour every day relating to their field. Their posts are simply short summaries of those articles with another short commentary added. Pretty economical way to produce a high quantity of good, valuable posts.
