Arcadian Lighting: Small Business Blog of the Day

Today's blog is a result of walking down the stairs and looking at one of our lamps. I thought to myself, "I wonder if there are any lamp blogs?" and hopped on the Technorati Blog Directory to find out. One of the first ones listed should produce an interesting SBBOTD...

What it is
Arcadian Lighting: Lighting Fixtures and Lamp Blog is the blog for Arcadian Lighting (if you hadn't guessed). The blog is written by an unknown author from La Verne, California.

Features
The writer uses this blog in an interesting, and very useful way. Nearly all of the posts on the blog are questions from customers along with the answers from the person running the blog. I'm not sure whether or not the questions are made up, but I don't think so because some of the questions are very specific. At any rate, I don't know that it even matters if the questions are made up, I like the format of Q&A on this blog.

Favorite Post
Here's a post called Lite Source Crencendo Wall Sconce that illustrates wonderfully how the Q&A format works on this blog. When a customer wrote in with a question, here's what Arcadian Lighting wrote back:

"Answer:
1. This wall sconce comes in metal polished steel.
2. This sconce takes (2) Type B 60 watt bulbs and not three as posted in our site.
3. These are available and can ship in 7- 10 days"

Very clear and specific answers to specific questions that anyone from now on with the same question will benefit from as long as the internet is still plugged in. Very cool.

Further Comments
A lot of people seem to be writing in with questions because the blog is very active. Again, I leave open the possibility that they may be making up the questions which I think would be quite brilliant. What kinds of questions would you ask if you were a customer of the company you run? Write them down and you will have subjects for blog posts coming out of your ears.

I definitely would like to know who is writing the posts. Also, if they provided pictures of the lamps and fixtures they are mentioning, that would be hugely cool! But I won't knock it too much. The blog is pretty interesting as it is and is like nothing I've ever seen before. For that reason alone it's a good idea to check this one out.
